Interview with a veteran
This is an interview with Staff Sargent Hafel, an active duty Marine. He is currently a Staff Sergeant, in the position of a recruiter for the local area. He was born in Centervile, Iowa. Mr. Hafel has some family ties to the armed forces; both of his grandfathers were in the military, and his sister also joined the Marine Corps. Mr. Hafel enlisted in the Marines, and later married. After he was married, he tried to live a civilian life and left the military. However, after 5 years as a civilian, he re-enlisted, again in the Marines. He is much happier now because he enjoys being involved with helping people, and working for a cause, and he feels that he accomplishes this by being a Marine. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, and returned in 2011. He was a communication technician, meaning that he was in charge of maintaining communications in the Forward Operation Bases during his tour in Iraq. Please enjoy this wonderful interview with Mr. William Lester Hafel IV.
